Anthony Osita Ihebia, popularly known as Cashcodeine (stage name) is a Nigerian artist from the 🇳🇬 state IMO. At the moment, he is based in Kenya. He prides in being a brilliant song writer, talented singer, and skilled rapper. Ideally, his genres include Hip-Hop, Afro Pop, and Afrobeat!
In a recent interview, (about a month ago or so) Cashcodeine mentioned a feature with a USA 🇺🇸 rapper by the name Sleeve, alongside plans for an Album with just him and Sleeve.
However, he was particularly excited about his own personal EP which was set to be launched on 5th July. The eager beaver was beamed up with excitement given the prospect of dropping a new sound of amapiano, which is the also featured in his EP as the lead song. Fans will be thrilled to learn that the EP also has a major feature with a Nigeria rapper coming up.
This was his response when asked what his audience and Cashcodeine fanatics could expect from him:
“y’all should expect something totally different from what others are doing out there now cause I got my own vision I’m trying to bring into the video something amazing from a young africa blood like me guess it will leave a lot of people speechless as I’m kicking off with my career”
When asked what was the main inspiration to his projects, he was quick to mention his circle of friends, and interestingly, haters! It took him by surprise that people who did not particularly like him, ended up vibing to his tracks.
If he draws inspiration even from his haters, it is no surprise that the EP is titled ‘BEEF NO MAN’! While ‘Beef’ is a common term among artists especially in the Hip-Hop scene, the newly released EP does not seem to endorse any kind of feud. Matter of fact, it’s all inclusive, with its major focus being good vibes all the way!
A month or so after promising his fans that he’d drop his brand new EP, alongside a ‘sick’ Amapiano tune (Shake Body), Cashcodeine more than delivered on both fronts!
Afrobeat Music aficionados will definitely appreciate the new release, especially since it comes with an irresistible ‘Icing on the Cake’. Cashcode takes things to a whole new level by announcing to fans that there would be a star-studded launch party to the EP, set for Friday, 14th July!
Amapiano lovers are in for a treat! Cashcodeine has taken on a new approach, surprising fans with a genre he has not ventured into yet; Amapiano!!! Yes, you read right!
The EP’s lead single, Shake Body, is a melodic , well tuned , mellow Amapiano tune that is all about ladies getting jiggy to the vibe Cashcodeine provides. It wouldn’t be surprising if this becomes an instant banger!
The song utilizes the Afro Piano aura while at the same time showing love the the vibrant Kenyan music scene , as the picturesque video is shot in Nairobi’s Capital .
To spice it up, Cashcodeine uses some Swahili in the song, giving it an authentic touch (given that he is Kenyan-Based now). It is something that is set appeal to the Kenyan audience, while still tapping to a wider fan base, more so in West Africa where he is from.
